Pottage is SO Old Testament

I'm sure we're all familiar with the story of Jacob and Esau and how Esau sold his birthright to Jacob for a bowl of pottage. I know we all think the same thing...really? Come on, there is no way that pottage is really that amazing...well, unless it's as yummy as a kitchen is clean.

All I ever want for Mother's Day is a clean kitchen. This morning I realized the only way I would get that gift was if I did it myself. Forty-five minutes or so later, my kitchen sparkled and off we went to church. When we got home it was still sparkling which was no shock since no one had been home and the thought of dirtying up this little piece of heaven was too much to bare, so I made Rick load up the kids in the car off we went to Chili's where I decided my eternal salvation was worth a chicken fajita pita with a side of veggies and a glass of ice water with lemon.

I might be going to hell, but the kitchen I leave behind will be spotless.

I had this same conversation today with my husband. I did not get a clean kitchen for mother's day and there is nooooooooo way i was cleaning it on my day. But, my husband did make me dinner and after a hour long bathroom visit (eating under cooked chicken is never a good idea even if you're trying to be nice)I'm wishing we went out to eat!
Happy Mother's Day!

Don't you know about "Vacation Rules?" When you are on vacation, you are allowed to eat out on Sunday because you are away from home and there is nothing you can do about it. Clearly, Mother's Day was intended to be a Vacation, so I say, Vacation Rules kicked in and you have not lost your eternal salvation! Hope it was fabulous!

We went to dinner at mom's and hubby stayed home and cleaned the entire upstairs. That's 7 whole rooms!! You can imagine my shock! Hope you had a nice mother's day!
