Genetics and Christmas Lights

Genetics is an amazing thing. My father passed away when I was 11 years old, so we're talking over 22 years ago. That's a long time and it's next to impossible to remember his mannerisms and things he said, hand gestures and the like, yet every Saturday after Thanksgiving I'm reminded that my father still runs through me.

I can cuss just as well as he ever could. Love you dad.

I am sorry you lost your dad at such a young age, sorry you lost him at all.
Great that you still have a part of him you remember :).

my dad died right before thanksgiving 10 years ago this year. I was 16 and am losing a lot of my memories about him it seems- though I got 5 precious more years with him than you did with yours. You've had a lot of loss, I couldn't imagine what you've gone through. I hope you have a GREAT holiday and do some fabulous christmas things to entertain your dad who's for sure watching! :)
(My dad didn't cuss much but he sure loved his treats - I suppose that's what I inherited from him, though unfortunately not his skinny genes...dang it!)

There is NOTHING in the world like Christmas lights or rush hour traffic to bring out the sailor in me!
