Living the Dream

So to enhance my blogstalking skills I've joined Mormon Mommy Blogs (see the little blue box on the right). For those who are unfamiliar with it, it's just a list of random people's blogs sorted into different categories to make it easier for people like me to waste time.

I was pretty excited and waited impatiently to see what category my blog would fall into..."The Lighter Side" because I really am so funny, or maybe even "Witty Women" for very obvious reasons. Well, yesterday I received my e-mail saying I had been added to the category...are ya ready?

Living the Dream

Thud. What? Are you kidding me? What kind of dream was she talking about? More times than not my dreams are freaking scray and out of control - very similar to my life. My blog may seem tame, but you ain't seen nothing until you've seen Tania turning around in circles naked screaming "Wow!" just before bathtime while Aren is begging for "just one more popsicle, please?" as I tell him to "shut up before I throw you against the wall!" and all the while Rick is trying to watch the latest episode of "Destroyed in Seconds" no doubt wondering why he wasn't asked to work late.

We don't have a house, we're in debt, we have no garden, no savings...the list can go on. After the initial shock of being snubbed, I really did start to think about things. I am married to a wonderful man who works his butt off every day to provide for his family so I can suffer staying at home. I get to teach piano lessons four days a week which I totally love. Aren is alive and well and almost ready to celebrate his third year transplant anniversary, and Tatiana is the healthiest 16 month old I've ever seen. We may not have Lily right now, but she's here and she's waiting.

So, I guess in a way I really am living the dream. Now if only my dream could take a little turn to the right so a nice house full of money to pay off the student loans could pop up.

I am on there too, in Another Slice of Life.
I am happy you see how you are Living the Dream, but I would like to complain because you should really be in the Lighter Side for sure.

You make me laugh and cry at the same time. The more I read, the more I realize how much we are alike. I read this post twice just to get it all in. You're awesome and I love ya!

MB, I was surprised by your "placement" too... Only because I know I can come here for a good dose of LOL. But your truly an amazing person, so "Living the Dream" isn't all that surprising after all. :)

MaryBeth, you are like the Grand Poobah of blogging. We all want to be like MaryBeth, so you are in fact living all of our dreams.

My guess is by the end of the week, all of us followers will also be listing ourselves on Mormon Mommy Blogs. Because if MaryBeth does it, it is the cool thing to do. :)

Your life is like one of MY dreams. Just not the one where Rigor Mortus Rick hot-air balloons over the alps in his marching band uniform. And no tornadoes, I hope.

Maybe they just don't dream quite as big as we do...:) You are living a dream, just not the one you thought.

Is it strange that I don't want to add myself to "Mormon Mommy Blogs" because I'm mortified that I would be placed in the "don't bother, she's boring" category?

MBD - you are the greatest! I don't think you'll ever appreciate what a great friend you are. I don't know when we'll be able to see each other again, but you are truly my sista from anotha mista!
