A Mother's Love

I'm a firm believer that every mother thinks their child is the cutest thing on this earth. But I am here to tell you that is not the case. Come on, you know it's true...there are some fugly kids out there. Admit it. The hardest part is admitting that your kid is not one of the cute ones...in a photo anyway.

Aren had his school pictures taken and man, I am the first to admit they leave a lot to be desired. I've got to get this kid into a real photo studio or out in nature some place so we can get a good photo of him because this one just isn't cutting it.

Are you kidding? That is a super-cute picture. I love it!

You're nice Petra, but I can take it. They're awful.

K, we have seen some dang cute pictures of this kiddo. HE is adorable; the picture is not. It looks like they either took it just as he was gearing up or down from a good smile. Take him on retake day.

I don't think it's awful, but it isn't his best either.

It looks like they didn't just let him be himself. They forced the smile.

That's why retake day exists.

As I said, I think his pic is cute! You probably know his potential smile more than anyone though, so I understand. We usually have one retake every year or so...
Hey! I think I'm the only one on cam not on your friend list, lol!

You are officially my friend Joy :)

Sorry about that. I'm kind of a loser that way ;)

MB ITA with the other ladies he is such a cutie but it does look like they just barely missed him smiling or hes right about to smile...
THis is a trademark photo for DH and his family. They always seem to just miss them smiling in pictures.

i have some hideous school pictures of my own, and my mother always refused to let me have them redone. i personally think she's saving them up to blackmail me with if we ever win the lottery or something. so think about what you can do with those pics in the future...

I love horrible school pictures! I have lots of my kids and we ALL know how cute they really are- LOL! Last year Samantha (was 11 and is still well endowed) came home with pictures where her cleavage was showing and she looked 16. Um ya- NO!
I think the photographers wait until they have a goofy smile or something and then click the picture.
Yay for retakes!

Ethan is at the smile fake and just plain look homely stage in most photos. :) I can commisserate. (that is if I could spell it)
